A GUIDE TO BEASTMEN

Beastmen a bizarre race of half-human half-animal creatures created by science and magic, no one knows who created the first beastmen but sense then many have created more of them and they breed true. Because of this there are many different types, races, ethnicities, and body plans of beastmen but despite this they are all one specie. It is the purpose of this to educate people about beastmen not by listing all the different types of beastmen but by informing them about things that are true about all beastmen and explaining how beastmen are categorized.
What are beastmen?: As said earlier beastmen are a race of half-human half-animal creatures, but when most people think of beastmen they only think of beings that are half-human half-another mammal species. This is a mistake for beastmen animal half can be of any non-human animal specie, not just a mammal. There are beastmen leeches and tapeworms as well as beastmen dinosaurs and fish, and every other kind you can think of, but despite this diversity beastmen are in fact one specie. It should also be noted that while most beastmen are made of only human and animal combo there are beastmen that are a combo of human and two or more animals know as chimera. And finally keep in mind that despite being known as beastmen not all beastmen are male, there are beastwomen as well as other biological sexes beastmen but the name beastmen is the most use name for the race as whole and that is why we are using it here.

Reproduction: Beastmen reproduced the same ways humans do and normally they have the same gestation period as humans as well and give live births regardless of what their animal half is, but there exceptions. However the most odd thing about beastmen reproduction is the fact that they can reproduced with any other kind of beastmen and even humans and there animal halves as well. You when two beastmen of the same kind mate their offspring will be the same kind as their parents 95% of the time, with a 5% of them being born as a different type of beast men in their family bloodline(note this may increase or decrease depending of born parents bloodline). If the parents are the same kind of animal half but different kind body plans there a 45% chance that the offspring will have the same body plan as the parent they are the same biological sex as, and a 35% chance that they will be born with the other parent body plan and a 10% of them having a different body plan all together(this can increase or decrease depending on the parents bloodline). Things get far more complex when talking beastmen who are widely different kind of animals, when two very different animal half beastmen mate (like a snail and lion from an example) when that happens there a 50% that the offspring will be born the same type of beastman as their mother with a 44% chance that they will be born the same type of beastman as their father, and a 5% that they are born as a different kind of beastman from their parents’ bloodlines, and the remaining 1% is the chance that the offspring will be a chimera. The chances for body type stays the same for all beastmen offspring, and chimera follow the same rules for beastmen mating no matter what.

Things are different if the animal halves of the beastmen can crossbreed naturally, if that is the case than there is 33% chance for either parent type, a 33% that it will be the crossbreed animal type beastmen, and a 1% that it will be a different type of beastmen in the parents’ bloodline. For example, a horse beastmen and a donkey beastmen have a 33% chance of having a horse kid, a 33% for a donkey one, and 33% for a mule with one 1% for a different kind of beastmen. Also keep in mind that natural crossbreed beastmen are not counted as chimera and unlike their animal halves they have no greater chance being sterile than any other type of beastman. Things different when beastmen crossbreed with humans or animals, in the case of beastmen can naturally breed with any animal specie that their animal half can(ex: a lion beastman could breed with a lion or a tiger) the offspring are always beastmen and if it is a different specie than the beastman animal half than the offspring follow the same rule as beastmen crossbreeding. When beastmen breed with humans the results are like with two different beastmen breed with the one different being that there no chance of a chimera, the offspring is either a beastmen or a human. But it should be said that it is possible for the offspring to look at human at first but later turn into a beastman sometime before their twenty first birthday.

Beastmen Body Plans: Due to how the nature of their origin beastmen come in many different body plans, but these body plans are share among all types of beastmen no matter what their animal halves are. There a total of seven main body plans which all beastmen belong in and a total of eight secondary body plans that can be combine with the main body plan meaning that it is possible for beastmen can look very different from their own family members.

Main Body Plans:

1. Splicer: A splicer is a beastman that looks almost like a normal human (or sometimes does) with only a few visible animal traits if any. These traits can be as simple as just acting like there animal halves, with any abilities the animal may have, or they could be cover in scales/fur/feather/whatever the animal half is cover in, and everything in between but no matter what the always have their human shape to them.

2. Kemono: A kemono in many ways look like a splicer but the biggest different is while splicer is still mostly human looking a kemono has extra features. The most common being tails and animal ears, but other features the animal had is also possible. Like extra arms, horns, wings, and antenna just to name a few.

3. Satyr: A satyr is very similar to both a splicer and a kemono with one big different, everything from the waist down. From there the satyr has a biped like form of their animal half, even if said animal half didn’t have legs. They often have extra features like horns, animal ears, and animal eyes as well.

4. Theriocephaly: What make theriocephaly is the fact that their bodies are human or at least human like while their heads are that of an animal. Their bodies on the other hand are always human like, even if their have other features like a tail.

5. Anthro: Anthro are humanoid in shape but for more beast like than human like. In fact, the base body shape of a human is really the only human feature they have sometimes.

6. Sphinx: Sphinxes have the body of their beast half but the head or sometimes just the face of their human half. Sometimes they have a few other minor human features like a human chest and also a sphinx that animal half has a tube-like body (ex, snakes and worms) is called a naga.

7. Feral: A feral is a beastman that looks almost like a normal animal of its beast halve and sometimes does. In fact outside of their human intellect and ability to speak most don’t have any human features at all.

Secondary Body Plans:

1. Centaur: Without a doubt, the most well know of the secondary body plans is the centaur. Any beastman expect sphinxes and ferals can have this body plan that involves everything from the waist down to be the body of their animal half join at the neck or closes counterpart. This makes centaur stronger and faster than most of their none centaurs counterparts, and it should be added that those who animal half is tube-like are called lamia, while those who body are more fish like are called mermaids and mermen.

2. Reverse: The reverse body simple changes the beast features and human features around for example a reverse satyr would be human like from the waist below but above would be like a anthro.

3. Flightless: Flightless is a body plan that can only be taken if the beast half is four limb flying animal and have one of the humanoid body plans. In this plan the beastmen has no wings at all.

4. Gargoyle: Gargoyle is a body plan that can only be taken if the beast half is four limb flying animal and have one of the humanoid body plans. In this body plan the wings grow from the back of a gargoyle giving them hands as well as wings.

5. Harpy: Harpy is a body plan that can only be taken if the beast half is four limb flying animal and have one of the humanoid body plans. In this body plan the arms and wings are the same thing, how arm or wing like they are as well as if the harpy has hands or not changes per harpy.

6. Ettercap: The Ettercap body plan can be taken by any beastman who animal half has six or more none wing limbs and with a humanoid body plan. This gives the beastman more arms than a human, the number(legs count as well) can equal the number of limbs the animal or be less.

7. Mismatch: A mismatch is one of the strangest looking of all beastmen for they are call this due to the mismatch animal and human parts of their bodies. It is possible for a mismatch to look like a normal human except one of their hands are a hoof or they have tail growing from the back of their heads, or many other different ways. But they don’t have to just look human they could look like an animal or any other of the beastmen body plans but have mismatch parts or parts growing from places they don’t normally grow from.

8. Nuckelavee: Nuckelavee body plan has a body of a feral or sphinx and growing from its back the body of a humanoid beastman body plan from the waist up. This often makes it look like the humanoid half is rading the animal half.

Beastmen breeds: All beastmen belong to a breed that show what they or their ancestors were created to do. Breed also effects how beastmen look and behave, and just like body plans it is possible for beastmen of two different breeds to have children that belong to another breed as long as that breed can be found in their bloodlines.

1. Wildlings: The wildling breed is the breed closest to their animal natures, they were the first beastmen to be created on purpose and there for they are seen as the base line beastmen.  All wildlings have more bestiary looks and behavior and prefer living and working very close to nature, some even live like the animals they look like.

2. Companions: The companions are breed of beastmen created for more intellect work and work that involves more interaction with humans. As should they have softer features and are seen as being closer to humans in both terms of intellect and behavior.

3. Beast Of Burden: The breed call beast of burden is a breed of beastmen created for manual labor. As sure they are normally heavily muscled, stubborn, but at the same time very passive, because of this they are not normally viewed as being very intellect.

4. War Beasts: This breed of beastmen were created for war and anything to do with violence, and they have sharp pointy features. They are known to be aggressive and strong willed.

5. Guardian Beast: This breed was created to service as guardians, as sure they have strong chisel features and are known to be very patient as well as territorial.

6. Holy Beasts: This breed was created to serve as spiritual leaders, after all almost all religions have some form of sacred animal. These beastmen have features that make them look wise and are known to be great sources of wisdom

7. Show Breed: The show breed was created to be entertainers in one way or another. Singing, acting, dancing, modeling, and many other forms of entertainment are what they are created to do and because of this they are normally very good looking with passionate fun loving personalities.

8. Livestock: Livestock beastmen were created to harvest useful things their animal halves maturely produce, normally it is things that the beastmen can produce without harm to themselves (milk, eggs, honey, wool, etc), but sometimes they’re made for parts of their bodies (meat. Hide, organs, etc). Livestock are normally cubby and dull witted.

9. Mongrel: Not all beastmen are created on purpose and mongrels are all beastmen that were created by accident. Because they were created by accident it is very common for mongrels to have deforms and well has mental issues.

Mutations: As a race that own their origins to many different artificial methods beastmen have a number of mutations that make them even odder than one may think. Here is a very short list of some of the more common visual mutations.

1. Wingding eyes: One of the most common and odd mutations are eyes that have unusual and unnatural shapes. This doesn’t affect their vision in anyway.

2. Unnatural colors: Having a color palette that isn’t natural for their animal or simply doesn’t exist in natural at all is another common mutation for beastmen.

3. Gorgon: The gorgon mutation is for beastmen who animal halves have a tube like body shape or has tentacles. Instead of hair their head is cover in the bodies/tentacles of their animal halves and they get some form sight base transmutation power, sometimes they can control this power sometimes they can’t.

4. Demonic: Beastmen with this mutation have demonic features and powers.

5. Angelic: Beastmen with this mutation have angelic features and powers

6. Fairy: Beastmen with this mutation have fairy features and powers.

7. Supernatural: This mutation grants the beastmen any or all supernatural abilities their animal half is said to have.

8. Mage: This mutation allows the beastman to cast spells at birth.

9. Superpower: This mutation gifts the beastman with superpowers of some kind.

10. Vampiric: Beastmen with this mutation have vampiric features and powers.

11. Cyborgic: This mutation is cause by the nanobots often use to created beastmen, and it gives the beastmen some cyborgic parts.

12. Multipart: With this mutation, the beastman has more copies of a body part than normal, all fully functional of course.

13. Therianthrope: This one gives the beastman the ability to change between two or more body plans, sometimes at and sometimes only under the right circumstances.

14. Claws and fangs: If the beastman doesn’t have claws and fangs due to their animal half not having them than this mutation will give them to them.

15. Head arms: This odd mutation changes the beastman arms into the heads of their animal half, it can be all the arms or less.

16. Beast Size: Most beastmen are in the human size range but with this mutation the beastman becomes the size of their animal half.

17. Size Changing: This mutation allows the beastman to change it size at will.
